Artisan Aor hails from eastern Thailand, near the border with Cambodia, and was born in the city of Ubon Ratchathani. Raised in a large, traditional Thai family, Aor’s roots are deeply embedded in her cultural heritage. She later attended college in Bangkok, where she earned a degree in Economics. Following her graduation, Aor worked for a marketing company in the city for three years. However, when her grandfather fell ill, Aor made the decision to leave her job and return home to care for him. Her grandfather, an artist whom she was very close to, profoundly influenced her. The time they spent together sparked in her a deep appreciation for both art and nature. It was during this period that Aor began creating her own jewelry pieces, an endeavor that would soon become her true calling. Once her grandfather recovered, Aor moved back to Bangkok to open her own jewelry business. "My work is inspired by nature and the beauty found in simple flowers," Aor explains. "The symmetry and vibrant colors are simply amazing to look at. I see great beauty in a blooming orchid, a colorful hibiscus, or the delicate design of a jasmine flower—and that inspires me. I am so proud of my work because it comes from the heart. I love using local materials that are easy to source and creating unique designs that represent who I am. I hope you enjoy them too."
